ABOUT ME
Hola! I'm Denise Castro, a landscape photographer based in Los Cabos, Mexico. With a passion for capturing the beauty of the world, I approach every shot with thoughtful intention. My gallery is a curated collection that showcases the beauty I see all around us.
I believe there is beauty in every day of our lives, and nothing brings me more joy than knowing that beauty lives in your home. Originally from the vibrant coastal city of Ventura, CA, I have now lived in 12 zip codes and three countries. These diverse experiences have shaped my perspective, allowing me to see and understand the world in a unique way that I hope to translate through my camera lens.
Twelve years ago, I picked up photography as a serious hobby which quickly turned into a business, dipping my toes into various photography genres such as fashion, portraits, family sessions, weddings, events, and production assistance. However, year after year, my heart longed for the ability to create art with my camera by showing the beauty of the natural world. And that brings us here to Furry Donkey Prints, where I can let my creativity run wild and help bring a little joy to your home.
WHY FURRY DONKEY?
During a weekend road trip, my husband and I played 20 Questions (animal edition) and got caught up in a lively debate about donkeys—specifically, whether they have hair or fur. I was team fur, so Furry Donkey became our playful inside joke.
But that joke then sparked something more. A year later, during another road trip, we wondered: what's life like in the world of a donkey? So we fired up Google and spent the next hour immersed in donkey facts. It turns out I share a lot in common with these incredible creatures, making that nickname even more fitting. And just like that, my business name transitioned from my name to Furry Donkey Prints.
Like donkeys, I'm social, a traveler, and fiercely loyal to my pack. I admire many qualities of these magnificent yet often overlooked animals. They're hardworking, incredibly resilient, strong, and determined—all traits I strive to embody through Furry Donkey Prints. I strive to bring people an artistic experience that can tell a story, spark a conversation, or ignite a connection.
(PS - apparently donkeys have hair, not fur…)
